QUESTION: If something goes wrong, does the school have liability?
ANSWER: Flu Busters retains all liability for school-based and school-hosted clinics provided by the
company. Schools and organizations hosting a Flu Busters clinic can be added specifically to the
company's insurance coverage and a certificate of insurance provided (upon request).

QUESTION: What is the insurance coverage agreement with Flu Busters?
ANSWER: Flu Busters agrees to cover the local school and school district, under its general and professional
liability policies, for any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, judgments, or settlements, including
activities performed by or on behalf of Flu Busters. Flu Busters and the local school/school district agree to notify
promptly each other if they receive any claim or legal action arising out of activities conducted at
Let’s fight flu together!
immunization Clinics.

QUESTION: Why is there a price difference for pre-registered and walk-in participants?
ANSWER: Flu Busters uses the amount of pre-registered clients to base the amount of vaccines to send to each site. To
encourage more pre-registrations to take place, we’ve lowered the cost of the vaccine. In addition, pre-registering allows
each person to pay for their vaccine and choose a convenient appointment time.

QUESTION: Is the school responsible for the disposal of used needles and other hazardous waste from the clinic?
ANSWER: No. Sharps Disposal by Mail System is a complete system for the proper disposal of used needles, syringes, and
any other bio hazardous waste from the clinic. The Sharps Disposal container is shipped with the clinic supplies and the
clinic nurse will dispose of all used needles and syringes using this system. The container is mailed directly to the disposal
center for the safest and most secure method of transport and disposal.

QUESTION: Do you have a preservative free or thimerosal free vaccine?
ANSWER: Yes. Flu Busters will have preservative-free nasal spray vaccines at each clinic. Persons desiring to receive the
preservative free nasal vaccine must pre-register and pre-pay for the FluMist vaccine prior to the scheduled clinic date.
Extra nasal spray vaccine will not be available at your clinic.

QUESTION: Should our clinic be held before, during or after school hours?
ANSWER: Schools hosting a Let’s fight flu together! clinic are able to schedule their clinic any time of the day and any day
of the week. Select the day and time that works best for your school’s calendar and will receive the highest level of
participation. If the clinic is school-based the clinic date and time need to be approved by appropriate school officials
before scheduling, if at another community site, approval of that site’s administrators.

QUESTION: How much are the vaccines?
ANSWER: Pre-registered vaccines are $25 each, and a “walk-in” will pay $27. For pre-registered nasal spray vaccine, the
cost is $30.

QUESTION: Does a school hosted clinic have to be held in the school?
ANSWER: Schools can host a Let’s fight flu together! clinic at any non-commercial venue in the community, with the
approval and cooperation of the venue. Sites for clinics can include libraries, recreation centers, community centers, and
other places that are convenient for families and other members of your community.

QUESTION: Does my school need to hire a nurse to administer the flu shots?
ANSWER: No. Flu Busters will provide a licensed health care professional on site to administer the vaccines. If there is a
school nurse or other certified health care professional willing to donate their services and administer the shots at the
event Flu Busters will donate $1 per vaccine to the hosting school. However, this is not a requirement.

QUESTION: Will a representative from Flu Busters be at our clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. Every clinic will have at least one nurse there for administration unless the clinic host identifies a local
health care provider or school nurse who is qualified and willing to administer vaccines at your clinic.

QUESTION: Can our school nurse or another local qualified health professional volunteer to administer the vaccines at our
clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. Flu Busters needs to ensure that the volunteer is qualified in your state to administer vaccines. If you have
a volunteer nurse, there may not be a need to include a Flu Busters’ nurse and the minimum pre-registration requirement
is decreased from 70 to 50.

QUESTION: What are the requirements for Let’s fight flu together! nurses?
ANSWER: Every Flu Busters nurse currently holds a license for the state in which the clinic is held. In addition, clinic
nurses complete background checks and training for
Let’s fight flu together! clinics before the scheduled event. Nurses
will adhere to all laws under HIPAA for privacy. The notice of privacy practices under these laws is available at each clinic.
All Flu Busters’ clinic nurses are required to complete Flu Busters pre-clinic training for each clinic. Clinic nurses are also
required to obtain all consent and payment forms, including tickets printed online and payments made at the clinic. The
nurse receives a list of pre-registered online participants prior to the event.

QUESTION: Can Flu Busters contract with and pay our school nurse or other local health care provider to administer the
vaccines?
ANSWER: Flu Busters can contract with your school nurse to administer the vaccinations at your school and pay them for
their time outside of normal school hours. Other local health care providers can administer the vaccines on a paid basis.
Flu Busters will require proof of qualifications for any local provider identified by the clinic host.

QUESTION: Does a parent need to be with their child if the consent form is signed?
ANSWER: No, if the consent form is signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian and provided to the clinic nurse,
parents do not need to be present.

QUESTION: How do you make your appointment to receive a flu shot?
ANSWER: Simply go to www.flubusters.net/naesp and click the green “Schedule a Vaccination” button. You can search
your local area for clinics and request a specific time. Or, call 1(866) 782-3014 to make your appointment.

QUESTION: Will low income families receive flu shots for free?
ANSWER: Children and families who have Medicare Part B can receive the flu vaccination for free. Flu Busters is working
on authorization to administer free vaccines under the “Vaccine for Children” program, and that coverage will vary from
state to state. Work with your local health department to coordinate your efforts and ensure that children and families
can receive their flu vaccination.

QUESTION: Is there a donation for a nurse or other qualified health professional who volunteers their time by
administering the vaccine at our clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. A donation of $1 per injectable vaccine is made to the host school. Typically a nurse can provide 25
vaccines in an hour.

QUESTION: Can the school hold more than one clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. A school can hold multiple clinics if needed; the participation minimums (50 if volunteer nurse, 70 if Flu
Busters nurse) will need to be met for each scheduled clinic.

QUESTION: My flu vaccination clinic is scheduled and on the school calendar. What are the next steps?
ANSWER: Promotion! Add the clinic date to your school calendar. Use the outreach materials available online, print off
flyers, posters, and information to share with your faculty and staff, students and their families, parent groups at your
school, local business and other community leaders. Work with your local media to promote your event. Encourage school
and community members to make their flu shot appointments early – Flu Busters uses the number of appointments a week
prior to the event to ship out vaccines and materials and determine if the minimums have been met.

QUESTION: Are there materials that I can use to gain the necessary permissions and promote my clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. The Flu Busters - NAESP website (www.flubusters.net/naesp) has information to help you select a clinic
date, obtain approvals to hold the clinic, a checklist for planning your clinic,
promotional materials and other documents to support a successful clinic.

QUESTION: Does Flu Busters offer any other on-site preventive health care services that we can combine with our Let’s
fight flu together!
clinic?
ANSWER: Yes. Flu Busters can provide heart health screenings, meningitis vaccines and other health care services. Call or
visit our website (www.flubusters.net) for more information.

QUESTION: What type of support does Flu Busters provide clinic hosts?
ANSWER: In addition to the information available online, each scheduled clinic is assigned to a Flu Busters representative.
This representative is trained to answer your questions and help you host a successful
Let's fight flu together! clinic.
Reminders with valuable information and ideas will be sent periodically to the primary school contact for each clinic.

QUESTION: If my school hosts a Let’s fight flu together! clinic, is any revenue generated?
ANSWER: Yes. NAESP members hosting Let’s fight flu together! clinics receive a voucher equaling $1 per injectable vaccine
that they can use at the NAESP store, towards conference registration fees and for other NAESP services. No revenue is
provided for Flu Mist vaccinations or free vaccinations administered under a government program.

QUESTION: Can the clinic be cancelled?
ANSWER: Yes. Prior to the vaccine being shipped to your clinic, you can cancel your scheduled clinic. This year Flu
Busters requires that at least 70 people be pre-registered (minimum of 50 if a volunteer health care professional is
administering the vaccines) a week before the
Let’s fight flu together! clinic is scheduled to be held. Flu Busters
representatives will work with you on re-scheduling, returning pre-paid vaccine, and other issues that arise because of
the cancellation.
